Qualifying system, Central Collegiate Ski Association, and Senior/Master

and North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky,
Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Organization
History
The History of Central Cross Country Skiing begins with the United
States Ski and Snowboard Association or USSA. USSA has been organizing
snow sports nationally for decades and is the sanctioning body for all
Olympic snow sports. Their current headquarters are in Park City, Utah.
Their development programs begin as children learn to walk and progresses
through to Olympic Champions. In the mid 1990’s USSA reorganized
and discontinued funding four regional support offices distributed around
the United States due to lack of funds. However, the need for cohesive
leadership in these regions did not disappear. Gradually, at various levels,
these regions developed their own organizations to support skier education
and development. Central Cross Country Skiing evolved through the late
1990’s and was officially incorporated in October of 2000. CXC Skiing
is now an independent 10 state regional planning organization for the
support of athletic and educational programs, for the creation of funding,
and to act as the primary coordinator and communicator of cross country
ski issues for athletes of all ages. Most of the officers and primary
volunteers have been lifetime cross country ski fitness counselors and
leaders.
Organization Description
Central Cross Country Ski Association (CXC Skiing) is governed
by an elected Board of Directors and led by the Executive Director (CXC
Skiing Chief Executive Officer). Board of Directors consisting of four
Officers and one Interest Group Representative for each approved Interest
Group. The Officers are the following: President; President Elect; Secretary;
and Treasurer.
The
Secretary, Treasurer, and President Elect are elected by the majority
vote of the General Membership at large. The President Elect is automatically
assume the office of President upon the expiration of the President's
term (or upon the President's resignation, death or incapacity).
The
Interest Group Representatives are chosen by the members comprising each
respective Interest Group.

Cross Country Ski Advisory Board provides independent source of advice

engaged in special event fundraising.
