Training Period 5 (August 16 - September 12'10) - will be
released on Monday, August 16th.

Period five is the first period of the pre-competition phase
of the year. More attention is placed on ski specific activities in intensity
and distance training. There is greater emphasis on more specificity during
distance and over distance workouts. Rollerskiing and hillier trail runs should
predominate.

Seeley, WI where endurance athletes can complete strength and conditioning
evaluation. CXC has accumulated data from athletes of all levels, from
beginners to elite.  For the past 5
years we have been testing and analyzing results of over 400 athletes on a
consistent basis in the sports of Nordic skiing, running, and road/mountain
biking.

installment of the Masters Team Camp. 
This camp was again held in Birkie Country.  With the new Sports Endurance Laboratory open, and several
new SkiErgs to pull on this camp was a dynamic mix of endurance and strength
sessions. 

Masters Team athletes arrived on Friday evening, and went on

37 athletes converged on Crest Hill Resort in Hayward, WI for the Regional
Elite Group Camp.  The first order
of business was for the athletes to get their VO2 Max testing done.  By using a standard running protocol
these athletes were put on a treadmill and physiological data was
recorded.  This data was put into a
PDF file, and was then explained to each athlete for the coming months of
training.

2010 Sit-Ski Event at the American Birkebeiner
Prior to seeing the first Birkie finishers on Main Street, spectators will again have the opportunity to watch physically challenged athletes use the latest adaptive ski equipment as they ski to the Birkie Finish Line at 9:00 AM on race day.
Later in the day several Sit-Skiers will ski alongside Birkie skiers as they cover the final three kilometers of the course to their finish on Main Street. These athletes will begin on the far end of Lake Hayward at Noo]]>
