2010 Sit-Ski Event at the American Birkebeiner
Prior to seeing the first Birkie finishers on Main Street, spectators will again have the opportunity to watch physically challenged athletes use the latest adaptive ski equipment as they ski to the Birkie Finish Line at 9:00 AM on race day.
Later in the day several Sit-Skiers will ski alongside Birkie skiers as they cover the final three kilometers of the course to their finish on Main Street. These athletes will begin on the far end of Lake Hayward at Noo]]>

Giants Ridge Offers Adaptive Ski Equipment for Physically Disabled Biwabik, Minn.  – Giants Ridge Ski Resort now offers adaptive ski equipment for the physically disabled so that all people may enjoy alpine and cross country skiing in northeastern Minnesota.

downhill on adaptive equipment called “sitskis.” Now cross-country skiers can use similar devices on

10 CXC Opportunity Centers are Up and Running The CXC Opportunity Centers are up and running this week! 10 Centers across the Midwest and 2 outside of the region:
Madison-Elver Park, Wausau-9 Mile Forest, La Grange-General Store/Nordic Trails, Hayward-New Moon, Minocqua-Winter Park in Wisconsin; Minneapolis-Elm Creek, Duluth, Giant's Ridge in Minnesota; Houghton-Michigan Tech and Marquette in Michigan
Centers are also functioning in Jackson Hole, WY and at Bogus Basin in Boise, ID

Adaptive Skiing Event at Hartley | January 06, 2010
Duluth XC Ski Club is collaborating with Courage Duluth, Central Cross Country Skiing, and Hartley Nature Center to offer a cross country ski event for adults and youth with mobility or vision impairments and youth with autism spectrum disorders (Saturday, Jan 23 from 1:30 to 4:00pm).

CXC Adaptive Ski Program Central Cross Country Ski Association is proud to announce the formation of an innovative Adaptive Ski Program available for individuals with physical disabilities throughout the Midwest.

CXC established a disabled ski program in 2005 by bringing the U.S. Adaptive Ski Team to the Madison, WI SuperTour event and purchasing one sit ski. Since that time, over 30 disabled individuals have participated in the program with 13 sit skis currently in use by CXC. The curriculum is growing]]>
