Coach and Service Positions Open for 2012 J1 Scandinavian Trip

Mammaste, Estonia – Feb 14 – 28, 2012

The U.S. Ski Team and National Nordic Foundation are hiring one coach and one servicemen to join
Head Coach Kate Barton (BMA) to this year's championships in Estonia. The positions will be funded
by National Nordic Foundation. Each position filled will provide invaluable experience to individual,
club, and our developing ski nation. All applicants are welcome. The work is hard, and the job is
rewarding.

The desired coaching applicant is a team player, and should have prior experience leading and
participating in many camps and race trips. European experience is preferable, though not requisite.
Applicants should be comfortable, clear, and effective in communicating regularly with athletes age
15-17, and be willing to work long days that may include leading team meetings, group activities,
transporting athletes, orchestrating training sessions, mentoring athletes, and working with the ski
serviceman as needed. Coaching applicants must be licensed USSA Level 100 coaches, and have a
valid passport. All coaches on this trip must be able to drive manual transmissions.

The desired ski service applicant is a team player, and should have prior experience participating in
many camps and race trips in a ski service capacity. European experience is preferable, though not
requisite. Applicants should be comfortable, clear, and effective in communicating regularly with
athletes age 15 - 17, and be willing to work long days that will include talking with athletes about ski
selection, testing skis flexes, grinds, and waxes, with both the serviceman and athletes. Additional
duties include managing the wax room, assisting athletes in preparing training skis, and helping the
coaches in various race and training day duties. Ski service applicants must be licensed USSA Level
100 coaches, and have a valid passport. All staff on this trip must be able to drive manual
transmissions.

Feb 24: Sprint F
Feb 25: 5/10 C
Feb 26: C-F-F Relays
