28 JANUARY 2013The 2013 Midwest Junior National Ski Team has been named after the completion of the last JN qualifying event at Theodore Wirth Park on January 27, 2013.
Additional athlete spots will be named once the Central NCAA (CCSA) junior qualifiers are determined during the last weekend in February. Alternates and potential additional qualifiers will also be named or notified of their position.

The 2013 Midwest Junior National Ski Team will be named after the completion of the last JN qualifying event at Theodore Wirth Park on January 27, 2013. The team will be named in the upstairs of the Theodore Wirth Lodge approximately 1 hour after the results are official.
The Midwest Head Coach will name 42 athletes plus prequalified athletes on January 27th. Additional athlete spots will be named once the Central NCAA (CCSA) junior qualifiers are determined during the last weekend in February. Alternates and potential additional qualifiers will also be named or notified of their position.
The cost of this trip must be paid at the time of naming of the team.

The Midwest Junior Committee Chairman/Head Coach, Trip Leader and Head Wax Coach will review the applicants
and notify selected coaches by November 15, 2012.
Terms: The Midwest JN Team will pay for your travel, room, board, and uniform jacket. Any personal expenses (phone calls,
souvenirs, nights out) you will have to cover.
Prospective Applicants,
This is a week of hard and exciting work, late nights and exceptional experience. It is incredible
and rewarding to see athletes perform at their best while representing our division. It is vital that you can
communicate well with your fellow coaches and athletes.

If you are named you are expected to...
1. Become a coaching member of the United State Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA). Required (approx. $110). www.ussa.org
2. Become a coaching member of Central Cross Country Ski Association (CXC). Required (approx. $35).
3. Be working towards USSA Level 100 Coaching Certification if you have not already been certified.
4. Promote the Junior National program to athletes in your area.
5. Attend at least two qualifiers with athletes from your team (you will not be required to work with Midwest juniors in general at the qualifiers).
6. Attend Midwest Junior Committee meeting at Season Opener Junior National Qualifier.
7. Attend spring Midwest Junior Committee meeting (following Junior National Championships).
8. Attend CXC Regional Elite Group Camp in the first part of July in 2013.
9. Travel with the Midwest Junior National Team and do whatever is asked of you at Junior Nationals.
Wax Coaches

The Midwest Junior National team is happy to announce the selection of their head wax coaches for the Midwest JN team trip to Fairbanks, Alaska in March 2013.
Igor Badamshin - CXC Ski/Wausau has been selected as the kick head coach.
James Kyes - Lake Superior Ski Club has been selected as the glide head coach.
Applications for the remaining six coaching positions will be filled in the fall. Coaches on the Midwest Junior National trip volunteer their time to coach the best in the Midwest in the end of season Junior National Championships competition. Any USSA and CXC licensed coach is invited to apply for the trip.
