JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
GOAL OF THE JUNIOR DEVO PROGRAM
To create a clear pathway of junior athlete development and to impact athlete performance while maximizing athlete education. The foundation of the program is to provide year-round, sport specific, skill-based training focusing on long term development directed by high quality coaches.
The CXC Junior Development Program was formed in April, 2007 to identify talented and motivated junior cross country racers on a continuing and consistent basis. This will lead to increased success for the Midwest and Great Lakes Junior Olympic Teams and U.S. Junior National Teams in the international arena; provide high-level training and regional camps to benefit and enhance the development of junior cross country racers at all levels; and, through the use of carefully selected and licensed coaches, develop a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and curriculum to improve all levels of skiing in the Central Region.
