CXC MASTERS TEAM

CXC Masters Team

The CXC Masters Team is a group of master/citizen skiers of all ages and ability levels who love the sport of cross country skiing, want to grow it, and to give back to the sport. Everyone joins the CXC Masters Team for different reasons, some to get faster, some to be more efficient on skis and some just to support the sport itself. Skiers join the CXC Masters Team from across U.S., from the Midwest to New England, from Washington DC to Park City, UT. In return for the Master’s generous support CXC provides very unique and exciting opportunities to its members, such as bimonthly training camps, individual technique sessions, performance testing, race support at the Birkie, and social events among others. There are currently over 70 members on the CXC Masters Team, and the Team is constantly growing.

Over the past three years the CXC Masters Team has become the backbone for skier development fundraising in the Central Region. The Team has supported a variety of ski worthy causes, from entry-level youth initiatives, young talented athletes and rising stars. Just last month, two of CXC Elite Team’s youngest athletes were nominated to the U.S. Ski Team.

What our members are saying...
"I’ve enjoyed every aspect of being on the CXC Masters Team for the 2010/11 ski season. I'm 52 years old, I live in Park City, Utah yet the entire CXC group of elite athletes, coach's and fellow masters skiers all made me feel immediately welcome as part of their family. I enjoyed the training camps in the Midwest as well as training together for ten days in West Yellowstone. Throughout the entire ski season I was able to be at a variety of races with my CXC team members and we had a great time supporting each other. Focus on ski technique, balanced training plans suited to each individual and being involved with a team that has a fit for each generation of skier has been a tremendous experience. I'm definitely back in for 2011/12. " - CXC Master Skier

“I had a great time in Yellowstone and appreciate all of the help you and the CXC Team Vertical Limit gave me.” - CXC Master Skier

“Best to say THANKS for all of your help and support this year. Big improvements in technique lead to faster times. The skis were phenomenal! I surpassed this year’s time goal by three minutes and lopped off a whopping eleven minutes from last year's time”. - CXC Master Skier

"I believe in what CXC is doing and happy to support you guys. And as a bonus I get access to some of the best coaching available!" - CXC Master Skier

“I am blown away by the amount of value CXC is providing through their CXC Masters Team memberships or a subscription to the CXC Online Academy (buy it separately if you want, but it is included with the Masters Team Membership). I am excited about the future of skiing for me and for all of the skiers and ski organizations that are fortunate to have an interaction with the CXC Team.” - CXC Master Skier

Joining CXC has been a dream comes true for me. I started xc skiing in 1977 and did my first Birkie in 1978. After a long sabbatical from skiing, I learned how to skate ski 4-5 years ago. I joined the CXC Masters Team late season 2008 and got some early coaching from Oyvind and Yuriy which made major improvements to both my technique and comfort level skating. Then in Thanksgiving I had the opportunity to go to the Yellowstone Ski Festival with CXC. The coaching by Yuriy, Bryan Fish and several of the CXC Elite Team members significantly improved my skiing. Some subtle changes had major impact. The CXC video analysis has been especially helpful along with the CXC Academy. Thus I highly recommend the CXC Masters Team to anyone who loves the sport as much as I and hopes to improve both their technique and results." - CXC Master Skier
